Winter Plant Identification Workshop
27 February 2015

Orange County, NC

The North Carolina Association of Environmental Professionals (NCAEP) will hold a single-day Winter Plant Identification Workshop in the field in Orange County on 20 February 2015.  The field trip will be led by wildcrafter Will Endres.  The workshop will not only teach winter plant identification, but also discuss the plants' historic uses, including their medicinal and edible properties.  This field trip is designed for environmental professionals, botanists, and students who are responsible for conducting environmental surveys.

Will Endres is an herbalist, wildcrafter, and outdoor guide with more than 40 years' experience.  He has had many herbal elders and has been deeply influenced by the traditional Cherokee approach to plants and medicine.  He has taught over 350 apprentices and countless community members about the bounty of Piedmont wild plants.  He has been in business for 36 years and sells his products through Whole Foods in Chapel Hill and Durham, Weaver Street Market in Carrboro and Hillsborough and Chatham Marketplace in Pittsboro.
