Jennifer Haynie, NC Division of Water Infrastructure's (DWI) Environment and Special Projects Unit Supervisor, will discuss recent changes in infrastructure funding and the impact of those changes on projects' environmental review and the ER/EID process.  DWI was created as part of Session Law 2013-360 to consolidate the administration of several programs that provide financial assistance for projects that improve water quality.  It includes funding programs that were previously administered by the divisions of Water Quality and Water Resources, as well as the Department of Commerce.  DWI programs fund many project types, including sewer collection and treatment systems, drinking water distribution systems, water treatment plants, storm water management systems, and stream restoration.

For the past ten years, Jennifer has worked with DWI and its predecessor departments and has seen both funding and environmental review processes evolve.  She began her environmental career almost 20 years ago, after completing her education at Davidson College and Duke University.  Jennifer is also a suspense write and proud mom of two fur children, Wallace and Bonnie.
