NCAEP is pleased to announce the third round of our lunch and learn partnership with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District.  The first meeting of this round, Permit Applications and Information Submission Processes in the Wilmington District, will be held on 26 September in Charlotte, with additional meetings covering the same topic being planned in Raleigh (30 October) and Wilmington (14 November).

Registration by COB on 24 September is required.  Lunch will be sponsored by HDR.  Please contact Ward Marotti (wmarotti@wkdickson.com) to learn about subsequent meetings' sponsorship opportunities and to suggest future meeting topics.

Meeting Abstract:

The Wilmington District is constantly attempting to find efficiencies in how we communicate with our customers and deliver information to the regulated public.  How we accept, review, and process federal regulatory actions is paramount to ensure effective implementation of our program.  As the push for electronic media continues, we will be implementing updated business processes to streamline the application acceptance process and ensure timely review of project proposals.  In addition to District initiatives, we will also be discussing the requirements for complete permit applications.  Providing the Corps with the information necessary to review a permit application is essential in order for the Corps to expeditiously process the application for your project.  Often, information that is needed for review is a requirement of the regional conditions set forth by this District for the use of Nationwide Permits (NWP).  NWPs used in the Wilmington District contain activity specific regional conditions to ensure minimal impact to the aquatic environment.  Knowledge and awareness of these regional conditions is necessary in order to provide the Corps project manager with a complete application.  Mr. Ronnie Smith and Mr. Tyler Crumbley will be discussing these and other topics to facilitate effective communication and information submission through the permit application process.  Audience questions and interaction are encouraged throughout the meeting.
