Jennifer Mundt, Legislative Analyst with the North Carolina General Assembly, and Erin Wynia, Legislative and Regulatory Issues Manager with the North Carolina League of Municipalities, will brief us on enacted environmental legislation and forecast issues that may come before the 2013 General Assembly when it convenes in January.

In the environmental arena, the General Assembly focused much of its attention on regulatory reform and expanding energy resources during the 2011-2012 legislative session. Ms. Mundt will discuss many of the issues addressed in recently enacted environmental legislation including: changes to coastal management and development policy; reforms to the State air toxics program; hydraulic fracturing; and topics of various ongoing studies. Ms. Wynia will comment on the enacted legislation and make predictions on what may be the hot environmental topics taken up in the upcoming legislative session.
