The NC Department of Transportation (LeiLani Paugh) and Axiom Environmental, Inc. (John Dorney and Sandy Smith) as well as Jennifer Burdette (Natural Resource Consultants) and Nikki Duprey (Sage Environmental) will conduct a 4-day course organized by the NC Association of Environmental Professionals (NC AEP) on the latest version (Version 5) of the North Carolina Wetland Assessment Method (NC WAM) for determining the condition of wetlands from March 4-7, 2025 in and near Raleigh, NC. This lecture and field course will focus on the method which is the standard method formally adopted by the US Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District in their Public Notice dated April 21, 2015. The authors were part of a multi-agency team of state and federal agencies who developed the method over several years and have previously taught this course using the same curriculum. The course will be taught at the NCDOT Traffic Engineering Branch, 750 N. Greenfield Parkway, Garner, NC. The course fee is $785 for NCAEP members and $800 for non-members. It includes lecture and field instruction, a copy of the most current NC WAM User Manual, field drinks and snacks, and some lunches. Registration: Class enrollment is set at a minimum of 22 registrants and a maximum of 30 registrants. All checks will be held until we are certain that the minimum number of students is achieved for the class. Registration fees must be received by NCAEP no later than February 17, 2025.
